Dr Amit Das is an academician, researcher, and policy professional serving as Advisor (Digital), DAKSHIN – Global South Centre of Excellence, an initiative under the flagship of the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi, India. With over 20 years of teaching, research, and academic leadership experience in universities, he has built a distinguished career at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), Digital Governance, Digital Diplomacy, International Relations, and Global South cooperation. His work bridges technology, public policy, and international development, with a focus on leveraging digital innovation to address contemporary global challenges.

His current work focuses on advancing Digital Public Infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence governance, digital inclusion, digital trade, capacity building, and South-South cooperation, contributing to evidence-based policy frameworks that support resilient, inclusive, and sustainable digital transformation. He is particularly interested in exploring how emerging technologies can strengthen governance, enhance digital resilience, and promote equitable and sustainable development across developing countries.
