Detailed advertisement for the Engagement of a Publication & Editorial Professional

RIS,  a New Delhi based autonomous policy research institute specializing  in issues related to international economic development, trade, investment and technology, invites applications  from  well experienced professionals for  their engagement in the  area of Publications and Editorial Coordination with limited responsibilities related to institutional outreach.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Managing and coordinating RIS’s publications programme, including  research studies,  reports, policy briefs, journals, and institutional publications
  • Providing editorial support, including copy-editing, proofreading, language refinement, and quality control
  • Coordinating with authors, researchers, editors, designers, printers, and publication partners concerned
  • Handling ISBN processes, publication records, and documentation
  • Maintaining publication inventories and supporting dissemination to academic institutions, libraries, and stakeholders
  • Preparing publication summaries, forewords, and background notes
  • Supporting outreach activities related specifically to publications, including curtain raisers for  events, dissemination, and coordination with relevant institutions

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • Minimum Graduate degree from a recognized university / institution. Postgraduate qualification would be desirable.

Experience :

  • Relevant professional  hands on experience in publications, editorial work, or academic/institutional communication service
  • Experience of working with research institutions, government bodies, think tanks, or academic organizations would be desirable.
  • Strong editorial and language skills with excellent command over English and Hindi language
  • Ability to manage multiple publications and meet timelines efficiently

Desirable Qualifications :

  • Experience with policy-oriented or academic publications
  • Familiarity with publication workflows, printing processes, and digital formats

Tenure of Engagement

The engagement will be on a contractual basis for an initial period of one year, extendable based on performance and organisational requirements.

Remuneration:

Commensurate with experience and qualification in accordance with RIS rules and regulations.
