Mr. Vimalendu Chauhan is a Research Assistant at RIS, where he currently works in the Quality & Standards vertical, with a focus on India’s quality ecosystem, quality control orders, conformity assessment, and private standards. His research contributes to evidence-based policymaking through policy notes, discussion papers, newspaper articles, and other research outputs on contemporary quality and regulatory issues.

Previously, he worked on trade and sustainability, including research on the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), and their implications for developing countries.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Banaras Hindu University and a master’s degree in economics from the Central University of Punjab. Before joining RIS, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Rajasthan Education Council on a behavioural economics project undertaken with the University of Konstanz, Germany.
