Dr. Ganeshan Wignaraja is a Visiting Senior Fellow at ODI Global in London (formerly the Overseas Development Institute) and co-editor of ODI's journal, Development Policy Review. He also a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the National University of Singapore.

In a career spanning over the last 30 years, Ganeshan has held senior roles in international organizations (including Director of Research at the ADB Institute, Advisor to ADB Chief Economist, Chief Programme Officer at the Commonwealth Secretariat and Visiting Scholar at the IMF).

Ganeshan has also held roles in government (including Sri Lankan Presidential Advisor on Strategic Trade Policy, Executive Director of Sri Lanka’s Foreign Ministry think tank and a Member of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s Monetary Policy Consultative Committee), and the private sector (Global Head of Trade and Competitiveness at Maxwell Stamp PLC in London). He also has worked for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Oxford University’s Institute of Economics and Statistics.

Ganeshan has a DPhil in economics from Oxford University and has authored or edited 17 books on international economics, economic development and macroeconomics. His publications include:
